Wow, I'm actually getting feedback on this one. Mostly via text, or facebook, which is interesting. (I guess it makes sense if both windows are open at once...) Anyhow, allow me to address the three most said things! (So far!)
ReplyDelete1.> Difficult to understand who is saying what: OK, fair enough. I meant it to be just a little vague, but not that bad. My idea was that the Heart, on the right, has his text on the right. The girl text him has her text center left, near the cellphone. I can see how this would be confusing. My B, yo.
2.> The conversation doesn't make much sense. Well, OK. Hmm. Most text conversations between people aren't masterful prose, but I can see why someone would say this. To be fair, it's taken from an actual text thread, with some messages omitted for space/timing/unnecessarily cute, etc. I didn't want to alter it too much, and part of the point is poking fun at how ridiculous we sound when we're talking to each other, and we think no one else knows what we're saying. The other part is that in spite of that, it's still a sweet, and endearing thing.
3.> This seems to be the biggest concern, oddly enough: No, it (the text thread) is not about, or with one of my exes. The thing is this, though- Sinaed and I tend to write mostly about romance, and human interaction. This means at some point, we will reference our previous relationships- hopefully in a way which will provide some form of insight, and humor into tricky situations. At least, that's the plan.
